If the cable is too long or damaged, replace it. Make sure the cable is no longer than 3 m (9 ft 10 in) and free from damage such as fraying or severe bending.

After the restart, open the HP Smart app. If there are updates, follow the prompts to update and restart the Mac. If there are no updates, continue with these steps.
